The impact of an office refurb on creativity
Creating a space where ideas flourish
Most people spend more than 250 days a year at work. That can be within the same four walls, sat at the same desk day in, day out. Hardly inspiring.
Our headquarters in Glenfield has been a hub for our team of creative experts for more than 50 years. While we’re often out of the office delivering large-scale events and filming powerful video content, it’s important that our people have space to think when they are in the office.
After opening our office in Amsterdam, we felt the time was right to completely reimagine our UK offices to encourage more collaborative working and promote an environment where ideas flourish. Here’s how we did it.
A shift towards freedom and flexibility
An underused production space has been transformed into an informal break-out space with comfortable furniture and built-in technology which now provides a welcome space for brainstorming, reading or planning.
Known as the ‘work café’, we have a whiteboard wall and click-share software to make sharing ideas across tech easy. The space gives people the freedom and flexibility to work in a way that suits them best, thanks to the choice of low and high desks.
A shuffling of desks and a handful of roaming balance stools have shaped our way of working to encourage more ad-hoc cross-communication across teams.
Involve the team in the design process
Our stunning wall murals give a nod to the history of the building and spell out our USP ‘Powered by Creativity’. These vibrant designs created by our expert graphics team bring to life our brand colours and approach to working.
Colourful sound barriers enhance the interiors around the new desk layout and luscious green plants throughout the office create private areas and a sense of calm, a technique that has proved to support employee wellbeing.
Coupled with the modern kitchen facilities and an endless supply of fruit, it’s no surprise the team continues to come up with unique campaign ideas for clients.
