This year CWA has bolstered its team with high-profile appointments across key areas, as we continue to support our clients. With 2025 just around the corner, there’s no better time to reflect on the fantastic hires that have joined us in 2024 and get to know them more.
First up is our Business Development Director, Carl Perkins. Carl joined CWA in the early part of 2024 and brings along a wealth of agency experience across multiple sectors. When he’s not talking to potential new clients, he can be found treading the boards on stage.
Alongside Carl, David Leatham also joined at the beginning of the year as Media and Communications Director. David has over 16 years experience in the industry, including several international blue-chip clients. His experience includes PR, social media and relationship management. Outside of work David is a long-suffering Evertonian.
Further strengthening David’s Media and Comms team, is Sam Ard. Sam joined us as Media and Communications Manager, working on CWA clients including Volvo, Jet Plant, Hull Trains and UD Trucks. As a former BBC man, Sam uses his passion for storytelling to really come up with those creative ideas for clients and get the message across. This can often see Sam knee deep in mince pies one day to cleaning a beach in Bridlington. Sam is a new Dad and this takes up much of his spare time, although he does love a canoe.
Another 2024 recruit sitting within the Media and Communications team is Mariam Malik. Mariam joined us early 2024 as Media and Communications Executive. Mariam is an invaluable member of the team creating social media campaigns from insight, planning and delivery. She works across all our social media clients including the likes of Volvo, UD Trucks, Jet Plant and MTC. Outside of work Mariam recently got married.
The final addition to the Media and Comms team is Tracey Whiskens who joined as our SEO Lead. Tracey brings with her 15 years SEO experience and that insight to improve our client’s visibility online. Tracey works across several key clients including Jet Plant. Tracey’s spare time is spent running around after her daughter.
The CWA Creative team also expanded in 2024, with the welcome addition of Adam Spencer, as Junior Artworker. Adam utilises his graphic design experience and design enthusiasm to really bring ideas to life. Some of Adam’s artwork can be seen on our blog, along with key client work including campaigns for Hull Trains and Jet Plant. Outside of work Adam supports Nottingham Forest and keeps himself in shape with early morning gym workouts.
The Account Management team recently announced the appointment of Dan Holdsworth as Account Director. Dan brings a wealth of experience across digital marketing, brand communications and client-side leadership roles. Dan’s appointment is the exciting step in a period of strategic growth for CWA. Dan is a Derby fan, but we’re not holding that against him.
Nicola Adams, Managing Director at CWA, commented: "This year has been a transformative one for CWA, as we continue to build a team of outstanding professionals who strengthen our capabilities and enhance the agency services we offer. I’m really pleased with all of the appointments we’ve made during 2024. We’re on track for very big 2025.”
With a history spanning nearly six decades, CWA has built a reputation for delivering award-winning creative, marketing, events and communications solutions to clients worldwide. The agency’s focus this year on strategic growth highlights its ambition to remain at the forefront of the industry, while continuing to evolve to meet the changing requirements of its clients.
